Rawal lake view park is a picnic spot for visitors in Islamabad which is on the side of Rawal Lake.Rawal Lake in Islamabad is an artificial reservoir which provides the water needs for the twin cities. The area around it has been landscaped beautifully to provide good recreation, be it picnics, taking long walks, fishing or boating. Here are some pics from my last visit, enjoy!
The area around the lake has been planted with flowering trees and laid out with gardens, picnic spots, and secluded paths. The terraced garden and the lake are used for picnics, fishing and boating. The highest point in the garden offers a panoramic view of the lake, Margalla and Murree hills, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Boating, sailing, water skating and diving facilities are organized by private clubs

Chitral Fort Tourist Attractions

Chitral a paradise for tourists.Chitral was a Princely State in fact it remained so until 1961 in fact and the fort of Chital was the HQ so to speak. This place was the setting of a more or less famous British India battle in 1895. About 400 on the British side held out here in this fort and suffered heave casualties losing both British officers and over 100 Sikhs. Anyway they were finaly rescued and the britished posted forces here at this fort for many years. This area is Kafiristan as in The Man Who Would Be King" the short story by Rudyard Kipling concerning two British ex-soldiers who set off from 19th century British India in search of adventure and end up as kings of Kafiristan. Sohar Fort Oman

Opened in February 1993, it consists of six sections - private facilities used by the inmates of the fort, exhibits of the ancient copper trade in Sohar, tomb of late Sayyed Thuwaini bin Said Al Busaidi (1866), an underground passage, exhibits showing importance of ancient Sohar city, its history of navigation and overseas trade with Canton city in China, archaeological evidences of Sohar town and the events witnessed by it.

In 2003, the Punjab government, led by then-Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, established UOG on the vacant land adjoining the shrine of saint Hafiz Muhamad Hayat, who lived in the Mughal period.Going to the University from Service Chowk, you have to muscle your way through the waves of tongas, rickshaws and animal drawn carts till you cross District Courts. From there travel 15 kilometers on Jalalpur Jattan Road till the University. Gujrat is a last fertile district before expanse of Punjab transform into low hills known as the Pabbi. Commute on a single way metallic Jalalpur Jattan Road, plied mainly by overloaded old vintage busses, tractors, animal transport and milkmen on the motorbikes. Besides driving slowly, close to the edge of road and avoiding tractors with overloaded trolleys behind, you ride through endless expanses of waving crops of different shades of color, out of which the small villages and deras seem to rise like islets in an ocean of green. After the harvest all is changed: the dull brown of the fields is relieved by the trees, solitary or in groves and avenues.

University Of Karachi

One of the world largest university with about 25.000 students is University Of Karachi.The University of Karachi was established through the parliament as a Federal University in 1951. However, through another act of the parliament in 1962 its status was redefined as university of the province of Sindh. On 23 October 1950 the Karachi University Act was passed and after an amendment in 1951 it was enacted. For the first two years, the University of Karachi remained as an examination University for the affiliated colleges.
In 1953 it started its teaching and research activities at two Faculties of Arts and Science. Opened with an initial intake of 50 students, the university is now a sprawling structure of 53 Departments and 20 Research Centers and Institutes, under eight faculties of Arts, Science, Islamic Studies, Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, Management and Administrative Sciences and Medicine. The enrolment of regular students at the campus is around 28,000. There are about 1000 faculty members and more than 3000 supporting staff.

Khyber Pass

Lahore Food Street

Lahore Food Street was established about 9 years ago with the efforts of Mr. Kamran Lashari, that time Director of Parks and Horticulture Authority Punjab. It was one of the mostly visited tourism sites in Lahore. One could get all types of continental and traditional dishes on his table no matter where he wanted to sit in the Food Street. Shops and houses on its sides were given beautiful touch with lights and decoration.
